Welcome to the SDG4 Seminar, 10-11.11.2025, University of Jyväskylä, Finland!

I warmly welcome everyone to participate in the Faculty of Education and Psychology’s annual SDG4 Seminar!

I am writing on behalf of the organising committee at the Faculty of Education and Psychology, University of Jyväskylä. We are pleased to invite you to convene a workshop at the seminar on 10th November 2025, Monday.

The SDG4 seminar is an annual international conference hosted by the University of Jyväskylä, focused on Sustainable Development Goal 4: quality education for all. This year’s theme is "Leadership in Education."

Leadership in education concerns both leaders and teachers in schools and at different levels of education from early childhood education to higher education as well as governance and legislation. In addition, leadership in education is a contextual phenomenon and there is a lot of variation how leadership exists in different units and countries. We warmly welcome all of you who are interested in leadership in education and this phenomenon how it can support and affect inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong opportunities for all.

In past years, our participants have included students and staff from both Finnish- and English-medium education programs at JYU, as well as from other Finnish universities such as the University of Helsinki, the University of Oulu, and the University of Eastern Finland. Our presenters have ranged from local NGOs to international organizations like UNESCO. The two-day seminar will feature keynote speeches, panel discussion, and a series of workshops. We look forward to your participation and hope you can join us in making this seminar a success.
